Testimonies
This page
contains testimonies from members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual
and transgender community. Their first-hand accounts clearly and
compellingly document the discriminatory and violent conditions
faced by sexual minorities in Jamaica on a daily basis. These
testimonies, along with Police, Court and Medical records, provide
a legal record for Jamaicans seeking asylum in other countries
on the basis of their sexual orientation or HIV+ status. If you
would like more information about this package, please send a
request to info@jflag.org
We are
always looking for new testimonies.
Your story
could play a critical role in educating the public and lawmakers
as to the need for legal protections thereby assisting our efforts
to repeal the Buggery and Gross Indecency Laws. If you have been
the victim of discrimination and/or violent assault, please consider
sharing your story. You can remain anonymous and we can assist
you in documenting your experience.
Just send
an email with a brief description of the incident to: testimonies@jflag.org
